Before We Get Busy…
A few things you might be wondering before we get started — from what to expect and how booking works to products, donations, travel, and everything in between.
Don’t see your question?
Just ask. I’m an open book
-
Absolutely.
Once we’ve talked through your goals, preferences, and what you’d like to accomplish, you don’t necessarily need to be home for me to get to work.
For projects that require decluttering decisions, we’ll make a plan ahead of time for what I can handle independently and what I’ll need your input on. I can always send photos or questions along the way when needed.
For unpacking, organizing, styling, or spaces where the decisions have already been made? Go enjoy your trip. I’ve got the house.
Come home to one less thing on your to-do list.
-
A little, yes. A full cleaning service? No.
When we empty a drawer, shelf, cabinet, or closet, I’m not going to organize everything beautifully and put it back onto a dirty surface. I’ll wipe down the areas we’re actively working in as part of the organizing process so everything goes back into a clean space.
Deep cleaning — floors, baseboards, bathrooms, appliances, or whole-home cleaning — is outside the scope of my organizing services.
Need something more extensive? I’m happy to help coordinate or refer you to a professional cleaning service.
A fresh start deserves a clean slate.
-
We’ll make a plan for them.
As we declutter, we’ll separate anything you’re ready to let go of into categories like donation, trash, or items you’d like to sell or pass along.
For donations, I can help coordinate drop-off or removal. Have items worth reselling? I can help with those too, including photographing items, researching comparable pricing, writing descriptions, and preparing them to be listed for resale.
Because decluttering shouldn’t leave you with a new pile of things you still have to deal with later.
The goal isn’t just to sort the clutter — it’s to help you move it out and move on.
-
Where your things go matters to me.
Whenever possible, I work with local nonprofit and community organizations to help connect usable donations with people who can actually use them. Depending on what you’re donating, that may include clothing, children’s items, toys, household goods, furniture, or other useful pieces.
The organization we choose may vary based on what you have and what local partners are accepting at the time. When available, I can also obtain a donation receipt for your records.
I want donation removal to feel like more than simply getting things out of your house. If something still has life left in it, I’d love to help it find a home where it can do some good.
Clearing your home can create a little more room in someone else’s life, too.
-
Absolutely — I travel.
The Busy B* is based in Dallas–Fort Worth, but my services aren’t limited to the area. For the right project, I’m happy to come to you.
Whether you’re moving into a new home, tackling a larger organizing project, or simply want The Busy B* experience a little farther from home, let’s talk.
I always offer complimentary travel to Grand Lake, Oklahoma, Southeast Louisiana, and Fort Myers, Florida.
For all other destinations, travel costs will vary based on location and the scope of your project. We’ll go over everything before booking, so you know exactly what to expect.
Home may be in DFW, but The Busy B doesn’t have to stay there.
-
It depends on your space, your goals, and the level of support you need.
Every home and every project is different, which is why I provide custom project pricing based on the scope of work rather than a one-size-fits-all rate.
After I learn a little more about your space and what you’d like to accomplish, I’ll put together a clear plan and estimate so you know exactly what to expect before we get busy.
There’s often more than one way to make your space work for you.
-
Every space — and every client — is a little different.
Your timeline depends on the size of the space, how much we’re sorting through, the level of organization needed, and any additional services involved. Some spaces can be completely transformed in a single session, while larger projects may take multiple days.
Before we begin, I’ll give you an estimated timeframe based on your consultation and the scope of your project.
My goal isn’t to rush through your home — it’s to leave you with a space you love and that actually works for you.
-
Please don’t.
You don’t need to clean up, sort through things, or try to get organized before I arrive. That’s what I’m there to help with.
Seeing your space as you actually use it helps me understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where the overwhelm is coming from.
We’ll go through everything together and decide what stays, what goes, and what simply needs a better home.
You don’t have to get organized before hiring an organizer.
-
Absolutely not.
This is your home and your decision. I’m here to support you, not dictate what you keep or let go of.
We’ll go through things together, and I can help you make decisions that feel right for you, your household, and the way you actually live.
The goal is never to get rid of things just for the sake of having less. It’s to create a home that feels peaceful, functional, and filled with the things you actually want to use and keep.
You’re in control. I’m just here to guide and support you.
-
Not necessarily.
There may be times when I need you available to make decisions — especially while we’re sorting and decluttering — but you definitely don’t need to stand beside me the entire time.
Once we’ve established what stays, what goes, and how you want the space to function, I’m happy to take it from there.
Go to work. Run errands. Grab lunch. Take a nap. Enjoy the excuse to get out of the house. I’ve got it.
You don’t have to put your life on hold while I make your home work better for it.
